Healing From Miscarriage and Stillbirth
The loss of a child in the womb can be an incredibly deep and hidden pain for parents. One moment, your child is living and growing beneath your heart in what seems like the safest place imaginable as you dream and hope for the precious life within. The next moment, your womb is empty and your heart is bleeding along with your body as you crumble into grief, confusion, and overwhelming emotion. The world around you devalues the life of the unborn child, leaving you feeling misunderstood and alone in your loss.
There is hope in the pain, and you are not alone. The Church believes in the unique and unrepeatable life of your child and we grieve with you in your loss. Your child mattered and was loved. We honor his or her short life here on earth and we believe in the hope of Heaven for your child, that by God's goodness and grace you will see your child again someday and be together for eternity. Your child was created through love and we entrust them to the heart of the Father, who is Love itself. We are here to walk with you in your journey of mourning and healing through the physical, emotional, and spiritual resources we offer in our Memorial for the Unborn and in our diocesan miscarriage ministry, The Zelie Ministry. Please contact Zelie Ministry representative, Laura Range for support or to volunteer.
To make arrangements for the burial of your child in Saint Rose Cemetery or to have your child’s name inscribed on the Memorial for the Unborn, please contact Deacon Charlie McDaniel, Cemetery Director, by email or phone: mcdaniel@saintroseonline.org | 419-874-4559 ext. 212
