Memorial for Unborn Children

The Saint Rose Cemetery Memorial for the Unborn provides a means of memorializing unborn children and a place of spiritual healing for parents, relatives and friends.

History of the Memorial

The Memorial's beginnings date back to 2021 when the Saint Rose Respect Life Committee brought the Memorial idea to the Parish Cemetery Board. In early 2022, a subcommittee was formed with the Respect Life and Cemetery Committees. Final approval of the Memorial design and fundraising occurred in Spring of 2022. The land on which the Memorial is placed and surrounding burial sites were donated by Saint Rose Cemetery. The Memorial was funded by private donations and blessed by Rev. Msgr. Charles E. Singler on April 30, 2023.

Why a Memorial

Those who have suffered a loss have found that personally naming their unborn child is a huge step in the healing process. The Memorial for Unborn Children, composed of three granite stones, gives those suffering a loss that opportunity to not only name their child and have it inscribed on the stone but to also have a place to visit, pray, reflect and heal.

Anyone who is suffering from the loss of an unborn baby is welcome to contact Deacon Charlie McDaniel in the Saint Rose Parish Office to request an inscription. The Memorial is open to all, regardless of religious affiliation.  Financial assistance for burial is available for those in need.

Location of the Memorial

The Memorial for the Unborn Children is located on the east side of Saint Rose Cemetery, near the columbarium.
