Pirate Parents' Club

Pirate Parents' Club provides social and community building opportunities as a way to strengthen partnerships between and amongst students, families, and staff. All parents are considered members of Pirate Parents' Club and are invited and encouraged to participate.

PPC POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

PIRATES PARENTS CLUB PRESIDENT
TERM LENGTH: Three years total commitment

One year as VP
One year as active President
One year as past President (available to consult and help)

PRESIDENT DUTIES:

  • Establish goals for the year.
  • Find VP/President for the following school year.
  • Responsible for finding chairs/co-chairs/committee for each event and overseeing events.
  • Stay in contact with Stephanie Fullenkamp (along with PPC SECRETARY) about weekly email information. Make sure announcements are made with enough notice to parents, and information is conveyed correctly.
  • Liaison with Dr. Borgelt
  • PPC Email Account management
  • Contact PPC officers and get four meetings on the calendar by September, preferably one meeting per quarter.
  • Upcoming calendar meeting for events (communicate with Kasha Rakosik)

 ‌VICE PRESIDENT‌ ‌DUTIES:‌ ‌

  • Support and assist President in any way needed
  • Spiritwear/Fundraising: Coordinate spirit wear sales yearly, work with other officers or parents to determine fundraising ideas (restaurant nights, Used Uniform Sale, etc)
  • Room Parents: Create Sign Up Genius in August to include in weekly email to fill positions for Room Parents for each homeroom class. Communicate with the teachers and parents so they are aware this is being taken care of and inform each teacher who their room parents are, as well as let the volunteers know what their duties are for each classroom. 

PIRATES PARENTS CLUB SECRETARY
TERM LENGTH: 2 year commitment 
 
SECRETARY DUTIES:

  • Keeping all the minutes for the PPC meetings.
  • Acts as the liaison to Stephanie Fullenkamp with any written material that needs to be placed in the weekly email or advertised through the school.  
  • Creating a paper copy of the event calendar each year that is to be handed out at Back to School Night with a list of the Event Chairs and descriptions of each event. 
  • Assist in development of master email list of interested families

PIRATES PARENTS CLUB TREASURER
TERM LENGTH: 2 year commitment

TREASURER DUTIES:

  • Obtain from prior treasurer and/or create a financial budget for the school year.
  • Work with Gary Geis in the parish office to obtain PPC account detail on a regular basis. Answer Gary’s questions and ask him questions about charges as needed.
  • Update PPC files with expenses/income from Gary’s reports. Compare amounts to budget.
  • Prepare a high-level overview of expenses/income vs. budget for each PPC meeting
  • Distribute parish reimbursement form to volunteers as needed.
