Religious Education at Saint Rose
The Goal of Religious Education at Saint Rose
Saint Rose has two goals for the Religious Education program:
• Religious Education families attend Mass together every week.
• Parents embrace their role as primary educators of their children's faith.
Religious Education (PSR) at Saint Rose
Saint Rose offers at home family based religious education for students in grades kindergarten through eight. This includes preparation in grade two for First Reconciliation and First Communion and in grade eight for Confirmation. Families with children in grade two or eight attend parent meetings that provide additional information and support to assist parents of children in sacramental years. Families with children in kindergarten may register their child (optional) if they wish to.
Family based religious education in the home empowers parents to assume their primary responsibility to form their children in the Catholic faith by teaching in their home. Parents will receive support to do this with the assistance of the religious education office.
Work completed by their child at home is e-mailed to the religious education office.
Families are encouraged to come to Confession during times it is scheduled by the parish. Due to the pandemic, Children's Liturgy of the Word and May Crowing are paused for this year. Second grade and eighth grade families will receive all needed information concerning sacrament preparation and retreats/day of reflection.
