Mass Intentions Requests

Offering Masses is a long-standing tradition in the Catholic Church. An individual may ask a priest to offer a Mass for several reasons: for example, in thanksgiving, for the intentions of another person (such as on a birthday or an anniversary), for someone who is sick, or for the repose of the soul of someone who has died.  A $10 donation is suggested for requesting a Mass at Saint Rose Parish.

Mass Intentions Policies

A maximum of 8 Mass intention requests may be made, per parishioner household, throughout the calendar year. Of these 8 requests, 4 may occur on weekend Masses.

A maximum of 2 Mass intention requests may be made by non-parishioner households throughout the calendar year. These Mass intentions will be scheduled on weekday Masses, Monday - Friday.

Masses are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

To permit greater access to the parish’s liturgical calendar by all parishioners, requests for Masses are limited to one Mass per month, per household.

Mass suggested stipends are $10 per Mass.  Canon Law prohibits accepting stipends for Masses more than one year in advance.  Mass intention requests will be accepted for the following year beginning each year in July.

*Please note:  Mass Intentions will not be taken for Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, All Saints/Souls Day and Christmas.  These intentions will be for the general intentions of all our parishioners.

The parish reserves the right to change a date if necessary.  In that case, the person making the request will be notified of the change, if we are given their contact information.

How to Place a Mass Intentions Request

Mass Intention requests for a particular day can be made in person at the Parish Office, or mailing your request along with payment to Saint Rose Parish (checks payable to Saint Rose Parish with memo line marked as Mass Intentions).
